MS. JUDITH LINDLEY BIO
Tri-Color Cattery began in 1974 with a breeding program, for the elusive male tortoiseshell-calico colored cat. In 1977 and 1978 Miss Kitty presented Judith with two male Calico colored cats. One is very unusual but two are very rare. So the breeding program continued for a few more generations, but no other rare occurrences. Armed with the knowledge, gathered along the way, Judith founded Calico Cat Registry International (1978), as a means to educate people about these rare and beautiful cats, while registering cats of qualifying colors. Animal Helpline came along in 1979 as a hot line style advice service and cat rescue shelter. It wasn't until 1983 that Animal Helpline was granted nonprofit status, which enabled it to support the rescued cats through charitable donations. Over the years Judith and Animal Helpline have rescued over 1500 cats and 30 dogs, providing loving homes. Presently Animal Helpline houses older or handicapped cats, several old dogs and the farm animals, including cows, goats, geese, ducks, chickens and even, an old horse.

Somehow Judith has found time for other endeavors. She has had four husbands and raised four (human) children. She now has grandchildren and great grandchildren. Judith has authored several books, Calico Cat Registry Handbook (1978), On Older Cats (1996), Calicos and Kin (1997) revised (2018)with e-book (2003) revised (2018), The American Geisha (2005) and her most recent offering On Older Cats Second Edition (2023) paperback, hardcover and e-book. She has contributed numerous articles to magazines and newsletters and even had her own newspaper column, Animal Chatter. Along the way, she also picked up a degree in Animal Science from the International Correspondence School (1995) AND has been listed as one of the living authorities on the Tortoiseshell-Calico Cat.
A celebrated Marquis listee, Ms. Judith has been cited in the 54th through 58th editions of Who's Who in America, the 26th edition of Who's Who in the West, and the 25th edition of Who's Who of American Women. Other listings include American Biographical Institute's who's who 1981 through 1988 and International Biographical Center, Cambridge, England, 1981 and 1988, and lastly Strathmore's America's Registry of Outstanding Professionals (2002-2003) and their more recent Who's Who Worldwide 2008. Judith can also be found in The Atlas of Cats of the World, 1989, Dennis-Kelsey-Woods, TFH Publications, New Jersey and her favorite, When Did Wild Poodles Roam the Earth?, David Feldman, 1992, Harper Collins, pg.131. Outside of her vocational circles, Ms. Lindley enjoys such diversions as her animals, books and writing. She still operates the nonprofit Animal Helpline, as well as Calico Cat Registry, and STILL has her passion for all animals.
